Stalk Market
AM: 56 Bells
PM: TBD
Apparently the stalk market never rests.
Present from Nintendo
I logged in last night and had Pete waiting to deliver a letter from Nintendo. My mail (pockets) were full, so instead of telling me he’d come back later like he would have in City Folk, he kindly left the package in my mailbox. While it wasn’t yet New Year’s in Kasen village it was in Japan and the item turned out to be the mirror mochi available from 1/1/13-1/18/13.
Post Office Download
Figuring there would be another present available from Japan I ran over to the post office even braving Phyllis’ attitute to get my “First Sunrise of the New Year Lamp”.
I hung it up in my already out of fashion Christmas room.
New Year’s Eve Countdown!

00:31:33 to go!
After the countdown reaches thirty minutes, the music changes, villagers put on party hats and everyone gets ready for fireworks.

I was waiting for Kokuto to come over

kokuto arrived and got a noisemaker blast in the face!
My town had yellow and green hats (and yellow and green fireworks) Kokuto’s town had red and blue hats (and red and blue fireworks). He brought me two hats from his town. You can’t order them from the catalogue.

Party hat!!!!

When you sit on your tree for long enough “stats” roll. It tells you when you started the game, when shops opened, when residents moved in etc. It’s pretty neat!

Derry is not so good at math: “How many seconds until the new year? One minute is 60 seconds and so….um…um”

Lillian did not brave the cold for the countdown, so I went and said happy New year.
New Year’s Day

Happy New Year!
There’s another cardboard cutout in town square. I need two more friends to come over and take pics with me!

Cheeeeeeese!

“Mayor! Happy New Year!”
Look at her cute kimono
Shizue did not give me a New Year’s t-shirt. She gave me a year of the snake furniture. It’s actually pretty cute.
Moe moved in

outside Moe’s house

It is indeed Kokuto’s Moe

He’s kinda cute…
Snowman
I started the New Year off right: with a happy snowman.

happy snowman!

Sooo cute…want to play so much. Have everything ready but the game. 🙁
Happy new year Kasen town! 😀 So good to see everyone joined into the fun!
Happy New Year! Great photos, as usual. The fireworks look even more realistic! It must have been so cool in 3D.
