Animal Crossing New Leaf: Days 81 & 82

Stalk Market

*Closed*

Joan sold turnips for 92 bells apiece. I bought a record 1,000 of them—I cleared out my savings to fund this venture. I’m a little nervous about its outcome.

Overseas Adventure

I had tentative plans to visit an old friend’s village in the early early morning. We used to play City Folk together and haven’t played New Leaf yet. Initially I said I wouldn’t go because the agreed meeting time was so early and I had brunch plans at noon, but I set my alarm for 7am (way to early for me on a Sunday), blearily turned the game on and headed over to my friend Orenji’s (aka Mikuro) town. He’s in Japan, hence the need for early morning visits. Stupid time difference! *yawn*

Hi! *whack*

There was stuff everywhere! Everywhere. ww I introduced myself to a few of his villagers and took in the sites of オレントイロ (Orentoiro) village.

Before long Neko (who overslept ww) joined us. And then, a surprise guest! Full house!

She initially questioned all of the welcoming violence. *Thwack whack* but then whipped out a hammer and trapped me and Orenji on the inaugural tree. I’ve never seen a hammer outside of the island!

Is it just me or does that look like a giant tooth?

I don’t know what compelled me to pick the labyrinth tour. I have no sense of direction. And I couldn’t find my last pear. I lost that one for the team. Oops. ごめんね.

I added Latti-san and Orenji-san to my BFF list. I hope to see them again. We have plans to meet up next week. This time we’re going to meet up at 12 Japan time, so I may be more awake.

Back in Kasen Village

Sooo sleepy. I didn’t have much time to devote to village activities yesterday. I was in San Francisco all day (and didn’t get anyone with AC. Boo!) meeting with friends and then working on my essay—which is short, probably terrible, but is a rough draft and will be turned in today.

He gave me the snow rug.

I then forgot to roll another one yesterday. Oops.

Kaizo’s Corner

*barf* it's awful!

*barf* it’s awful!

Look away it’s hideous!

I didn’t know what I’d do with it. I thought I might redo it, but Lillian was looking for some new furniture that was 2×1 so pawned it off on her. She was delighted. I feel slightly ashamed.

Day 82

Stalk Market

AM: 117 Bells
PM: TBD

I don’t know if starting off the week high is so great… *worries*

Kaizo’s Corner

I’m slowing down with my remakes, but my guide lists them so I can see what I’m getting myself into! I’d say it takes the fun out of it, but it will help me avoid embarrassing blunders like with that polka dot dresser.

At the Museum

The museum gift shop finally had some new wallpaper—The fossil wallpaper. I didn’t get a picture. Now I really want to move my minis into a museum display room and put up the matching floor and wallpaper and make a dino-display room. It looks like spring cleaning is in order in the next couple days.

Would you believe I forgot to donate my sculpture yesterday? I turned it in today and the museum is inching ever closer to eventual completion.

My guide says that she likes traditional clothes. That was traditional. She didn’t seem to mind that it was for men.

I had to try not to snag the macaroon record player on my way out.

Public Utilities

I forgot to celebrate the new street light (which had an anonymous benefactor: Zen I’m looking at you. Thanks!) so we gathered and belatedly celebrated it. Then I made Shizue run all over Kasen looking for a place to put the bridge. It turns out Derry’s ex-house spot is contested land. She wouldn’t let me put it there. The other spot was too close to Tangy’s house. I finally put it in a ridiculous location just west of the original bridge just to put it in. I’m in no hurry to pay it off.

Although we already have a clock…I’m thinking of demolishing the fire hydrant and putting this in. I like fairy tales more than fires.

Conclusion

Off to class in a bit. I’m wondering if maybe I’ll start taking one day off a week…but that could just lead to a downward spiral of not blogging. I do get a bit overwhelmed sometimes. Playing is time intensive. Blogging about playing is time intensive. I’ll have to come to some accord.

  1. Blogging ain’t easy! I had ALMOST caught up to present date last week but now I’m 4 days backlogged once again. Le sigh…

So looking at Margie’s birthday party… wow she had a lot of birthday decorations up! How cute! Is it safe to assume that if I ever stumble into a house where there’s more than one townie and a cake, that I’ve wandered into a birthday party? Cuz I obviously cannot tell if I’ve received any party invitations in the mail lol!

Random request since you seem to enjoy making little dinosaur replicas. I am dinosaur-challenged, I can’t tell what’s what and holding onto random fossils in my limited storage is not a good idea. If you happen to have any spare fossils laying around, would you mind whipping up a couple of mini dinos for me? Just figured I’d ask. 😀

  2. I have a few questions?
    1. does grab bages return?
2.what is bamboo used for? and is thier bug only found on bamboo?
3.how many money rocks can be found a day per playable player? can thier be up to four gem stone rock?

    4. is it true that they lowered the rarity of fish and bugs?
5.did they make getting bells easier?

I hope you can awnser these questions. thank you.

p.s. I hope you can create a list of interactable community projects..

  3. I’ve got a ton of spares lying around, but no complete extra minis. I was selling off the ones I had already miniaturized. 😛 When you get your package, page 129 of the checkbook has a list of the dinosaurs able to be miniaturized and lists the parts that you need. That might help with figuring it out even if you can’t really “read” them.

    Some helpful vocabulary:

    • あたま – head
    • からだ – body
    • しっぽ – tail

There are only a couple of dinosaurs whose parts are comprised of different vocabulary, like the seismosaurus (サイスモサウルス) because he’s so big he has 5 pieces (I haven’t gotten all of him yet) the brontotherium (ブロントテリウム), and the pteranodon (プテラノドン) because they have wings. The exceptions there are:

    • くび – neck
    • むね – chest
    • こし – waist
    • うよく – right wing
    • さよく – left wing
