Friday April 26
AM: 45 Bells
PM: 133 Bells
Remember my harrowing tale of the ouiwana (オオイワナ)? —the tale being that I’d never seen one and didn’t know where to catch it? Well, I went fishing in the evening and I saw a shadow lurking by the waterfall that spills into the ocean. Long story short: Ouiwana has been captured and donated to the museum. Now I’m caught up on catching April critters. Which is a good thing since April is almost over…
Ex townies
I’ve been seeing ex-townies everywhere. When they’re gone they’re never really gone. Ida (poison frog) and Rizzo have been hanging out on the shopping street and even visiting stores. I guess they’re regretting their move.
Happy Birthday Inocchi!
Today we celebrated Inocchi’s birthday in Kasen. I had forgotten all about it. (Bad mayor!) But I ran up to the Able Sisters’ and bought him a shirt before stopping by. Lillian was dancing around with him. I may have spent more time chatting with her than the birthday boy. My bad.
Stalks Unloaded
I’m glad we had that stalk market spike because I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to get rid of the few stalks that I bought. I sold them this evening and made 79,800 bells.
Saturday April 27
I didn’t check stalk prices today. I’m pretty sure it was a random week.
Spotlight Item
The bulletin bird was chirping away. I checked the board and found out that we had a spotlight item in the department store. I went over to see what it was: a big meter/gauge. I’m bad with translating it, suffice it to say it look like something from Next Generation and I snatched it up.
Gracie’s Shop
The money from my turnip sale and my late-night trips to the island was burning a hole in my pocket so I blew it at Gracie’s. I really want to complete the Princess set, and it isn’t going to buy itself. I spent 300,000 bells on the curio cabinet and then dropped another 90,000 on the bird cage. Now I’m pretty much broke.
I still need 4 pieces of the Princess set.
- Princess Sofa – 100,000 Bells
- Princess Chest – 220,000 Bells
- Princess Table – 240,000 Bells
- Princess Lamp – 68,000 Bells
That’s a lot of fishing and bug hunting…

Redd’s Gallery
Redd was camped in town square so I put on my detective hat and went around to inspect his goods. I bought the Nefertiti Bust because I have a fake one (it has round hair).
Fashion help!
I visited Wasabi village last night because mayor Neko had Gracie Grace visiting and needed to figure out how to impress him. I never had the theme Neko was presented with “bunan” which I think translates to “safe”. Unfortunately I didn’t have any “bunan” clothes in my shop, but I had shoes, socks, and glasses that matched the theme. Neko’s shirt matched the theme, but nothing in her shop matched it either. She went off to hear Gracie’s review with a “gulp” and I stood around to await the result.
The result was good! Mayor Neko scored a princess sofa for her successful ensemble!
Sunday April 28
First thing this morning I had a visit from Nelson. I was arranging my front room with my new Princess furniture when he barged in. At least when neighbors barge in they bring presents with them. Nelson gave me a 7 lamp for bothering me before going on his way.
Joan was hawking turnips for 102 bells apiece. Since I spent most of my money on furniture yesterday I didn’t invest in the stalk market today. That probably means my prices will skyrocket.
New Villager Alert
I must have told Lucky to take a hike. Darn it! I love Lucky. Oh well. We’re getting a goat villager named Yasao. He should be moved in by tomorrow.
Museum Art
I donated Nefertiti’s bust today inching Kasen village ever closer to a complete art wing. We’ve still got a ways to go, but little by little it’s getting filled up.
Blue Roses?
Remember long long ago before vacation when I decided to try and get blue roses? I still don’t have one. It turns out I was misunderstanding the guide and that obtaining blue roses is a little more complicated than I thought. Guides also seem to differ in their explanation of how to get them as well which doesn’t help the matter.
So, when I was in Nagoya I asked Zen how to get blue roses. He said that you have to breed 2nd generation red roses together to get blue roses. What does that mean exactly? Well, you have to get hybrid color roses, say purple and orange. Those purple and orange roses can then produce second generation red roses. These red roses look exactly like run of the mill red roses that you plant. Except that they can produce blue roses. I have a group of red roses that I think are second generation…(I have no way of knowing if maybe a villager planted them or they just grew, so I could be wrong) and I’ve been trying to produce blue roses. I’ve fertilized them each day and so far…I’ve gotten a lot of black roses, but no blue roses. I’m still trying. Apparently once I get two blue roses getting more is easy. Because blue + blue = more blue. It’s getting the initial blue roses that’s tough.
I also noticed that I’m missing a pansy color and I think a tulip color, but I’m sticking with trying to get blue roses for now.
Kaizo’s Corner
It’s supposed to be sukiyaki now. Mmmmm sukiyaki.
It looks like the ouiwana is actually a Sweetfish. That’s what he looks like, anyhow. :3
