Stalk Market for Thursday, May 16
AM: 107 Bells
PM: 48 Bells
*No one in Animal Crossing says that to my knowledge. I’ve been watching too much Criminal Minds on the treadmill, but I find the phrase semi-relevant to what I’d like to talk about—which is: connecting with other games/regions. Ignore the serial killer reference unless you’d like to think of serial killers as random players who come over and trample your flowers and chop down your trees. Yeah. I’ve been thinking of working that into a post for a few days now.
My lips were sealed about whether or not I could connect to my Japanese game or about QR codes or anything having to do with visiting really. The embargo on connectivity expired, so I feel compelled to spill.
Yes I visit my Japanese town (Kasen). I’ve visited my husband’s town (Jisuna). Both of those towns are in my Happy Home Showcase. We go on island tours via local wireless or via the internet. To my credit I did wait over a week before I gave in. God I needed a slingshot.
My saddest realization from visiting Kasen village. Lillian’s English name is “Bunnie”. Ugh. Just. Ugh. She’s LILLIAN. Only slightly less disheartening is that Hakase’s (which more or less means professor) name is “Cobb” (which is a type of pipe…).
So, if you want me to visit your JP town to verify names now, comment. As far as I’m aware that’s ok now.
And I may have…helped my US town somewhat. There’s a reason you only see my front room. It’s because my other two look like this:
Moving right along: QR codes. Some of you may have noticed paths in pictures. I haven’t got an artistic bone in my body for making patterns. Those are from Famitsu DS + Wii June (a JP magazine). I scanned them (with a little help from my iPad—anyone else have trouble scanning QR codes on a pikachu 3DS? My other 3DS gets them great. My husband’s does too. Pikachu XL won’t scan them without them being blown up.). No I can’t edit them.
New Public Works Projects
I said I wouldn’t have the bells to complete the museum for a few days, but Jisuna village was buying cherries for more money. Sadly I didn’t have any perfect cherries to sell, but I had bushels of regular cherries to bring over. And I brought perfect apples back to sell in my town. Long story short, I paid it off.
I immediately purchased a display room and put a bunch of my fortune cookie items into it (since as you can see my back rooms are jammed full). I’ll take a picture when it’s more presentable. I haven’t given myself any fortune cookie items from my other game, so I want to get a few more pieces to make a better display room.
I still have two new works I haven’t scraped up the bells for, the dream suite and Resetti’s Surveillance Center. I have no idea where I want to put Resetti’s manhole cover. I always forget to check if it’s open in Kasen. I put it way up in the corner. But I don’t really want to put it anywhere prominent because it’s a manhole cover.
This post is a little text-heavy and picture shy. I saw Star Trek this morning and haven’t played as much as I would have liked. But here are a few pics before I go shmooze with my hamster.
Doh! And I forgot to mention Gulliver’s present from Italy: The mouth of truth. I forgot to snap a picture. Either I’ll post one on twitter or I’ll remember for tomorrow.
