Animal Crossing New Leaf US: Unruly Hair Must Go

Stalk Market for Monday, October 7

AM: 56 Bells
PM: 51 Bells

Today is my (official) wedding anniversary. My husband and I have been married for 4 years. And in typical fashion, we both forgot about it until I looked at my calendar and saw *anniversary* written. Oops. We kind of have two wedding anniversaries because in November we flew down to Mexico with limited family and friends and had a ceremony there, but it wasn’t legally binding. Hence the official one (that we don’t remember) and the unofficial one (that we do). So, maybe by November 2 we’ll have something planned for our anniversary. Is it too late to cross my fingers for that red pokémon 3DS? Prolly.

Kasen's tree is huge and peaceful.

Waking the Wind

I played limited Animal Crossing over the weekend because I got Wind Waker. OMG that game is beautiful. The only other game that kind of compares to it is Ni No Kuni. I also bought the guide because my Zelda track record stinks. I’ve played just about every Zelda game ever released, but I’ve only beaten the Minish Cap. I’m determined to try and get through Wind Waker. Even though every boss battle makes me cuss like a drunken sailor with turrets. So far I’ve only really encountered two bosses. I feel like I should be further, but I did a lot of side quests. And I did one dungeon more than twice cause I was convinced I had missed a treasure, but really I couldn’t have gotten it at the point. That’s what I get for not following closely along with the guide.

I wanted to play Wind Waker really quickly because Pokémon comes out next Saturday and there’s no way I can play WW, do maintenance on 2 AC towns, and Catch ‘Em All. But I don’t think there’s any way I can comfortably get through the game by Saturday.

Life in Hanabi

All I can say is that Hanabi seems to be hibernating. No visitors are showing up. My days are spent chatting with everyone, futilely looking for the few shirts and dresses I need from the shop and hoarding candy for Halloween. Yay Halloween! This slow pace is good for me because I spend less time playing AC and more time sailing around on a talking boat, but bad for you because I don’t have much to report.

So, let’s see what I’ve got. Joan is still selling turnips at outrageous prices, 106 bells apiece and so I haven’t bought. I think she got wind of Yumi’s turnip scandal and is continuously punishing Vella for it even though she had nothing to do with the matter.

Soleil decided Hanabi would be much better with a statue fountain. I just put one in in Kasen, but I decided it might be a better match with the bell tree/blue rose fountain area than the regular fountain, so I have the regular fountain slated for demolition tonight. Hopefully I can get the statue fountain in the exact spot without disturbing anything tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me. My PWP placement seems exceptionally…challenged.

Oooooh! Holiday! That’s right, today the message board announced Explorer’s Day next Monday 10/14. I believe this is an NA exclusive holiday that coincides with Columbus Day—not that we celebrate that anymore… I may be able to tear myself away from Pokémon for an hour or two to open up. Does anyone need to come over and pick up a model ship? If so, I’ll open up from 10am-Noon PST (GMT-8). If no one mentions anything though, I’ll skip it.

Julian is toying with me. He asked me to get another petition signed. I trekked all the way over to Kasen twice to get it signed (it was too early there when I first went over and only 3 townies were awake.) I was really hoping this would finally get him to give me his picture, but nooooo he decided that a surveillance camera was a fitting reward.

Sadly Kitt was one of the few awake on my first run.

No no. I want *your* picture, not a camera.

Soleil has gone from southern food greetings and catch phrases to Mexican food. What do you teach your townies?

And that’s pretty much it. I’m out!

P.S. I received I US copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf from Nintendo. Thanks, Nintendo!

  1. Hi, Jen!

I personally would love to get my hands on a model ship, if you would be willing to open up your gate on the 14th! This time I will remember the time difference, I swear!

Barold is adorable! And Julian is certainly pulling off the hard-to-get-attitude!

  2. Happy dual anniversaries, and what a great man you have to indulge your 3DS wishes! Congratulations!
