Animal Crossing New Leaf US: Cough cough!

Stalk Market for Wednesday, October 23

AM: 148 Bells
PM: 136 Bells

It’s Real!

Let me start by saying that I remembered to stop by the museum with the warm painting. I bit my fingernails a bit waiting for Blathers to declare it a ludicrous forgery, but he didn’t! It was real!

I dunno, she looks kinda cold and pale there to me...

That means Hanabi only needs three more pieces of art to complete the art section!

  • Quaint Painting
  • Valiant Statue
  • Motherly Statue

If I remember correctly I bought the valiant statue in Quantico last night…so I only need 2 pieces! Anyone have a motherly statue or quaint painting? I’ll trade bells or…something. I haven’t completed the art wing anywhere and I would love to have that done in one of my towns. Not least because I want the wallpaper in the gift shop. 😉

That’s about the most exciting thing that’s happened in the last few days. I did raid my husband’s town for perfect apples and made 432,000 Bells off of them. So now I can almost build a pyramid or sphinx or something equally bad that Hanabi doesn’t need.

Filler!

And now because I have nothing to write about, I bombard you with weirdness from my wacky villagers. I now realize why I give everyone catchphrases involving food. It’s Barold’s fault! He’s always mentioning food, so it’s natural that I have him say “cheetos” and then “cheezwhiz” just sort of stuck for Shep. “Bacongravy” was a mistake. It’s been replaced by “Sarsparila” [sic] for Soleil, but I know that Tia has adopted it and who knows how many other townies picked it up.

And just to prove my point, here’s Barold giving me a nickname of “cookie” (I let him) that he thought up while eating polenta. Ha!

While I'm Sparkles to everyone else, its only fair that I get in on the food names.

Home Visits

Speaking of bacon gravy…

I let Tia visit again and this time I wasn’t cooking at the time, so I was able to give her the full tour.

She's lying. She really wants to take over the universe.

You know what would make it more serene? Your picture!

Still no picture, but I’m trying!

I’m a Shark

Apparently at hide-and-seek anyway. I think my townies need to go take a class on hiding or camouflage. They’re not very good at it. But the townies on the island tour? I can never find them.

Shep was behind the police box, which one would think would conceal him. It didn’t.

Nurse Vella

Usually I suck at nursing, but I’m still trying to get O’Hare’s picture so when I didn’t see him walking around town I checked in on him—and found him plague-ridden. I gave him his first round of medicine. Remind me again tomorrow to bring some more because I need to score brownie points.

P.S. I received a US copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf from Nintendo. Thanks, Nintendo!

  1. I’m crazy for their pics too. I guess you already know that, but maybe some of your readers don’t, so IMO the best strategy is to always “go that extra mile” – if they ask for some fruit, bring a perfect one, if they ask for a fish, bring the best, like a shark or araipama. If they ask for furniture, you bring something refurbished. It still takes lots of effort, but after a month or so I always get their pictures.

  2. I had Redd today and I got my hands on the Quaint Painting. It will be yours on Saturday at 10 am! 🙂

  3. @Astrid I try to go that extra mile for them most of the time. It seems like the villager whose picture I want the most—Julian—is either never around or never asks for anything, so getting his is a challenge! I still need Julian, Felicity, O’Hare, and Tia. I think I’m pretty close for Felicity and O’Hare since I gave Felicity a lovely home tour this afternoon and remembered to bring O’Hare his cold medicine. Then I’ll make more of an effort with my antisocial unicorn and teacup elephant.
