For the first time in a long time I feel like I have a lot to report from Hanabi. I don’t really have a lot, but it’s nice to have something other than “today we had no visitors.”

Also for the first time in a long time I ran into Phineas. I had no clue what he might be giving me a badge for since I haven’t really been striving for anything. Turns out it was for all of those favors I do for everybody.
I think this marks Vella’s fourth gold badge.
Fishing
I only need one more bug (the dung beetle) to complete my bug encyclopedia, but I feel like I need a lot of fish. I haven’t investigated which ones I’m missing and when I should be able to complete my fish encyclopedia. I think I need four more? Something like that. I turned on my 3DS while snuggled in bed the other day and I caught the blowfish and football fish I needed for this month.
I also dove around a little and caught a red king crab. So I believe the only critter I have left to catch for the month is the horsehair crab.
Meet Olive…and Octavian
Tuesday morning I reset quite a few times (creating a new character each time) to get Octavian’s house in a respectable location. On several startups he had plopped his house down left of the police station—where I intended to put my new character’s house. My hope was that he would put his house roughly where Kitt’s was because I liked having houses surrounding the money trees and fountain. Octavian had other plans. He put his house in my tree grove, in the middle of my path, and by the police station over and over. Then once I reset and couldn’t find it. When I walked over by town hall, it was all staked out next to it. I didn’t even know there was room for a house there. I figured I’d leave Octavian there to keep Isabelle company.
That’s Octavian’s home plot and in front of it is my new resident: Olive.
After getting Octavian’s real estate squared away I had to worry about my new character. Her name has a funky circle as the “O” for the heck of it.
I don’t know the character entity for a filled in circle so I can’t type it correctly.
I found out that even though Octavian refused to put his house left of Rooney’s, there’s enough room there for me to put a new character’s house. I decided against it because in order to place it I have to set it back from the path quite a bit.
I decided Olive is a fraidy cat and thus needs her home next to the police station.
This location was vetoed because it’s so far back toward the campground.

I don’t know where to put it!!!
Tia requested a flower arch. I love the flower arch, but I haven’t had it requested in any of my towns and kind of forgot about it so I didn’t leave room for one. Now I really want to put it in but I don’t know where an arch would fit.
I should update my dream town and see if anyone can suggest a spot. 😉
New Townie finally!
At long last, Octavian moved in today. I love that the outside if his house (though not the roof or door) kind of matches town hall.

I can’t wait to see what the rest of his interior looks like. Maybe he’s not really an octopus, but an alien!

I also had Redd again. He shows up just to taunt me. I bought a proper painting. I don’t need it, so if anyone needs it, speak up.
Proper painting needs a new home.

Octavian was talking smack about Vella to Olive. He made it sound like Vella twisted his tentacles to move in, but really it was his idea to play rock-paper-scissors. Octopus lies. Noted.
