Harvest Festival
Have I really not blogged about the Harvest Festival yet? After the long weekend it seems like it was eons ago and yet went on forever because I did it twice on different days for JP and US games rather than trying to do it all in one day. It was tedious at best. I never did end up needing the scallop this year, but I was happy I had a red snapper.
Here’s a (horrible) gif of my Harvest Festival experience. Note that I took one for the team to make that cherry pie.
I wanted to get another set of ingredients for Yumi to use as she pleased, but I only ended up with an extra milk and flour. All my townies seemed to want to give me fruit and mushrooms that I already had. And what’s up with their need for barbel steeds? Regardless I made a fabulous dinner, got my fruit basket and cornucopia and generally saved the day. Go super cooker Vella!
Holiday Aftermath
The few days following the Harvest Festival were largely uneventful. I had Redd on Friday, but he didn’t have anything I needed for Kasen.
Julian also sold/gave Locke a worthy painting, so I have an extra of those as well.
It snowed on and off on Saturday. Tia wanted a Coelacanth. But by the time I decided I would try and grant her request it had stopped snowing. Now she probably hates me. Shep is talking in innuendos to Locke. I’m not sure what to make of it…
Happy Birthday Rooney!
December 1st finally rolled around. The start of the month was the day of my big test (which I may or may not have passed—I’m not hopeful—but won’t know until February), and also Rooney’s birthday. I had a few presents ordered ahead of time so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. I visited Rooney while sitting in the hallway of the humanities building at San Francisco State University waiting to be let into my exam room. Vella gave him a Big Bro’s tee and Locke gave him a barbecue. He loved both of them. As an afterthought I had Olive visit him too with an unwrapped hamster cage. He wasn’t too keen on that.
Naughty or Nice Day?
Are any of my EU friends going to be open for Naughty or Nice day on December 6? I’d really love to get my hands on the Holiday Stocking. 🙂 I can bring presents such as the new Sagittarius Bow DLC from Japan.
Toy Day Approaches
December first also seems to be the start of everyone’s musings about Toy Day. My advice: pay attention. Write down what the townies say they want. On Toy Day you’ll have to deliver a sack of gifts to your townies based on what they said they wanted throughout the month.
One thing I’m not clear on, do townies want the same thing from different characters? I only had one character when I played it last year, but I’ve been playing both Locke and Vella a lot in Hanabi (in preparation for Locke’s upcoming B-day) and they’re asking for things from both. I hope I don’t have to make two lists because I don’t think I could keep that straight.
Today in Hanabi
No visitors. Have to find Felicity a mole cricket. Vetoed being nicknamed “chickpea” by O’Hare. And accidentally agreed to visit Tia at 2:50 pm. I set my alarm, but it’s a funky time. Hopefully I make it.
Addendum
I have another unexpected dentist appointment on Wednesday. (I broke my tooth that was waiting for a crown. I didn’t feel it, but wondered why my floss was having trouble going between the two teeth. Oops. So, getting fitted for that crown on Wednesday or something? Hope it all goes well. The dentist didn’t make a big deal of it, so I’m hoping it’s nothing too horrible. At least my teeth are clean even if one is broken…) Depending on how that goes I might just post Thursday instead.
Ugh. Can I relax yet?
I’d love for you to visit Maple on the 6th, Jen!

Yay! I’d love to visit Maple. Let me know what time you’ll be open. —Jen
Great! Umm, would you prefer if it was around 9am-10am your time?

9 or 10 am my time works great for me. But I’m flexible right now so if there’s a better time for you I can be there. 😉
Well, I think 10 am will fit perfectly! 😀
