Animal Crossing New Leaf US: Stay Fashionable, Sucker

The biggest news from Hanabi is that we’re full up on villagers. Yesterday Rachael from Lavender asked if I wanted Pashmina the uchi goat and I said “yes!” A few minutes later I was on my way to Lavender to introduce myself and ask if Pashmina wanted to become a Hanabi-ite, Hanabian?—Hanabi’s only uchi and goat resident. (Though she can vacation to Kasen and hook up with Kidd).

Does anybody think of it? I mean I don't and I live there.

I will! Yay!

Thanks Rachael!

I’m so excited to have her get settled and I can’t wait to update my dream address. I don’t usually get my villagers by asking them to move in, so I wasn’t sure if she’d show up today or tomorrow. To be on the safe side I made a new character this morning first thing and had her wander around. Sure enough there was Pashmina’s plot. It wasn’t in a terrible location, but I still reset. I like having an orchard on the right side of town and new townies like to either put their houses in the orchard or, of course, in the middle of paths. They never seem to touch the spots where previous townies’ houses were. I wonder if you have to cycle through a certain number before they’ll put their house there or if I just have bad luck. Because ultimately I would have loved for her to put her house where Kitt’s used to be. After 10 or so tries I found her house outline way in the southwest corner of town next to Olive’s house. She took out a snowman and that was my snowman making field, but I can relocate. I called it good.

Only 1 snowman was harmed in the landing of this plot. And Spot (pictured) has been deleted.

And off in the distance Vella's Zen mansion looms. Ahhh my fiefdom.

I love getting new neighbors. I think the next villager I let go might be Rooney. Two cranky villagers might be too many. Although we have 3 smug villagers…but I refuse to part with Julian. I really like Shep and O’Hare has grown on me too. I’ll have to do some soul searching or see who pisses me off.

In Other News

I got a badge I wasn’t expecting yesterday. Phineas was waiting for me first thing as I walked out of my house. He gave me the street pass badge. Must have gotten a few people at Japanese class or subsequent dinner in J-Town that pushed me over to badgedom.

I'm really shy actually, I just like to hang out in the bookstore in San Francisco where all the Otakus are.

I also got a bingo and was rewarded with a curling stone. I got that one really quick! Usually my card is almost entirely filled before I get one.

My townies are now talking about the fishing tourney this weekend. I hope to participate at least a little. I need a flounder table and a jellyfish lamp (I’d like multiples) for Vella to complete the fish set.

Yup. It's on my calendar. No, really. The AC desk calendar has it listed.

That’s really all that’s new.

It’s looking like I’m going to bow out of the Japanese class on Monday. It’s a little easy for me (why can’t I find one that’s level appropriate??!!) I’m going to make my hubby take it by himself—I’m curious if he’ll do better/learn more without me there to fall back on (or if I’ll just end up doing his homework). And then maybe try the pre-advanced class next semester. I’m sure I can keep myself busy without a class in the meantime. I’ve got textbooks for my textbooks. This was really just to say I’m probably not changing my posting schedule. And even though I was thinking about stopping blogging, now that the stress of studying for the JLPT is done with (at least until this year at the same time) I’m enjoying it again, so I’ll probably keep rambling for the foreseeable future.

This line makes me nervous. The only crook we have in town is...um you, Nook... (taken while placing Spot's now deleted house)

Tia and I have so much in common. She crams books in her dresser.

P.S. I received a US copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf from Nintendo. Thanks, Nintendo!
