Much like in Animal Crossing when your townies will run up to you and want you to do something for them, NPCs and Disney characters have favors they ask of you as well. They just don’t do the pee-pee dance at you like they do in New Leaf.
On the bottom screen you’ll see a map of the area you are in. The one pictured above is Castleton, where you can do favors. You’ll notice different colored push pins on the map. The blue ones that are flat circles are Disney characters. The blue ones that look like pushpins (look on the left side in the green area) are Disney characters that have a favor to ask of you. The orange pushpins are NPC characters that have favors. The blue pushpin with a big circle around it is just indicating that that character is offscreen, further south than the map shows.
If you go up to one of the people that have a favor pushpin they’ll have a question mark over their head and you can ask to hear their tale of woe and missing ingredients. Yesterday I walked up to Dale who was very concerned he didn’t have his favorite food.
After telling me what was wrong he told me the specifics of what he wanted:
He wanted 3 beefy acorns. Which, as you can see from that sad red zero next to the suitcase icon, I didn’t have. After seeing what the person wants you have the option to reject their request or take it. I have 7 hours and 55 minutes to track down the acorns (as shown on the bottom of the picture) so I decided to take it.
If you take a favor and don’t know where to get the requested item, it’s easy to find out. Just open up your menu by hitting X, click on requests, then favors and click on the favor you’re interested in. It will bring up this screen which shows the item the person wants and how you can get it:
The requested favors change at 9am and 5pm daily, and you can get some useful items by completing the tasks, so try to do as many as you can. If you many requests for the same Disney character, Pete for example, they may ask to take a picture with you. I was stumped about how to get Pete’s picture but eventually after doing favors for him he asked to have his picture taken with me.
