The August 2014 issue of ã´ã“ã·ã‚Š contains a slew of adorable designs. The first one I decided to share is an alternate pirate costume. I thought it was perfect for my little pirate Locke. Enjoy!

Animal Crossing New Leaf US: Cool-Kid Party
I’m still in complaining mode which translates to: blog—plus Kokuto is at a Mötley Crüe concert and I’m bored, so here I go again!

I was at the dentist today getting fillings. It’s like even the Nooklings want to fill me with fear.
If you don’t follow me on twitter or Miiverse you may not have seen that when I checked my mail yesterday I found a letter from Elvis announcing his birthday TODAY
This of course sent me into fits. He moved in, obliterated my path, revealed my secret hideaway, and then as icing on the cake demanded a birthday present. Who does that?? The king of course.
But after turning from purple back to my normal sickly pale, since I can’t seem to tan this year, I decided to rise above and get Elvis a birthday present. I thought about giving him one of the extra crowns I bought to get me the gold Famous Buyer badge, but decided I didn’t have to rise that high above, so after thinking for a while I decided to buy him a new royal shirt. A king in a polka dot shirt is just not a king.
Yesterday I stopped by Elvis’ house to see how he’d unpacked and I was shocked to find that we already have a traitor in our midst befriending him. It should surprise no one to find that it was Soleil hanging out with him. She’s probably trying to recruit Elvis to eat Flurry.
I told you the jury was still out on my path reimagining? Well, here’s what I’ve got with one minor change: Next to Elvis’ house two spaces left I planted a money tree. I don’t know if it will grow, but I thought it was fitting and the area needed something.
Happy Birthday Elvis!
Today I wrapped up Elvis’ present and took it over to his house. Grizzly was celebrating with him. I found that fitting. Hanabi’s two newest residents bonding over pissing the mayor off.
It was what he said next that gave me pause.
Yeah, yeah, not that kindhearted stuff. I’m not buying it. He’s a Leo. I’m a Leo. We’re both bossy, overbearing and used to being in charge. It all makes sense now! My not liking him has nothing to do with his Wizard of Oz appearance.
I’ll tell you a secret. I’m pretty much over my three newest residents showing up out of the blue. It gives me something to do. I want all of their pictures, so it makes me want to play every day and bend over backwards for them and even though I really don’t like where his house is, part of the fun of a town is changing it up every now and then. His unfortunate landing presented an aesthetic challenge for me.
Of course I cringe now every time I see an orange tent pop up since I have no vacancies. Fortunately I didn’t need to worry today. I’m not interested in Big Top.
I could have had a vacancy though. Aurora asked to move. I’ll happily let her go after she gives me her picture, but I don’t have one yet, so she’s stuck in Hanabi until she coughs one up.
P.S. I received a US copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf from Nintendo. Thanks, Nintendo!
Pikopuri Animal Crossing New Leaf Playing Cards
Every other month Pikopuri delights me with its whimsical design book, from which I painstakingly copy most all of the QR codes that I post. But Pikopuri doesn’t just come with the design book. It usually includes other goodies. It’s come with a secret diary and pencils and a pencil case among other things.
August/September 2014 issue’s delight is a set of playing cards drawn by the artist who does their four panel comics, 霜風るã¿. I didn’t even want to take the plastic off, but I had to just to look at them. Here’s a peek.
Though Julian didn’t make the cut, Bunnie, Marshal, Tia and others make it almost ok.
Want your own? Here’s where I get mine: Yesasia.com.
Animal Crossing New Leaf: Uhn-Huhn
Because it’s fun to blog when I have something to complain about, here I am again! Yay! I’ll lead up to my complainy bit with small talk though, so bear with me. (and that’s not a pun referring to Grizzly)
The last few days have been pretty good. I’ve been trying to be nice to townies and do favors for them. I fulfilled Barold’s fantasy of seeing who would win in a fight, me or a shark, by bringing him a shark and proving that it’s no contest: I win.
I’ve indoctrinated both Aurora and Grizzly into the fold by letting them call me Sparkles.
On Friday I had a small gathering and opened up Hanabi for the first time in ages. Two people visited and it was fun seeing Hanabi through new eyes.
Saturday was the Bug Off. Because Kokuto and I had attempted to go to the Ramen/J-Pop Festival in San Francisco I didn’t have time to participate and thus didn’t check in on the contest until after it had ended. I supported my townies and cheered for the winners just before the deadline.
After the ceremony I wandered around to say hi to everyone and that was when tragedy struck in the form of a staked out plot of land. It was in the worst spot ever, It cut into my path and into the little hideaway where my log bench sits. I was livid. It was pretty much the closest I’ve come to rage quitting in ACNL.
The villager moving in: Elvis. Little bit of trivia for you. Elvis (the real king, and not this lion) died on my birthday. Granted I was one a the time and not like he died and I emerged triumphant into the world, but there you go. I also really really hate Elvis. When an ex-boyfriend’s mother gave us an Elvis Christmas CD as a present I thought it was a joke. It wasn’t. So, me and the lion, we’re not off to a good start.
Today matched my mood. It’s raining and thundering. I have to go get signatures for Octavian’s valiant cause: “Learning to Shush” and I think I’ll try to go back and forth a few times to Kasen for it to drive up the visits.
I sucked up my rage and introduced myself to Elvis today, though I’ll admit I didn’t wipe my feet before entering his house.
I spent the better part of the morning trying to salvage Elvis’ landing spot. I’m pretty sure I failed, but I need a couple hydrangeas and some more pink roses before I can decide. The secret log bench is now exposed right next to Elvis’ house. Remind me to turn streetpass off. And not to wifi… (Even though Elvis didn’t come directly from either of the people that visited.) I’m gonna hold out for Marshal or bust next vacancy!
P.S. I received a US copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf from Nintendo. Thanks, Nintendo!
P.P.S. Pikopuri should arrive tomorrow unless DHL arrives after I leave for class
Animal Crossing New Leaf US: Recently in Hanabi
It’s been a while since I blogged about Hanabi. Ok, let’s face it, it’s been a long while. I’m still faithfully governing my beloved town through its good times—Felicity finally moved—and its bad—and immediately following we got a big bear…
Bye Felicity!
Mayor Vicky from Rainbow came to pick up Felicity after she packed up. I was a little sad to see Felicity go, because I like her and it’s always sad to see townies leave, but she was off to spread the good word about Hanabi far and wide, so I tried not to tear up too much.
Hello, Grrrr
Little did I know, mayor Vicky had dropped off her own present when she picked up Felicity. A grizzly one. A grizzly bear to be precise.
I had no idea at the time that’s where he came from. I could’ve gotten unlucky and got him from streetpass. I bided my time until he moved in and then he spilled the beans about his origin.
I was initially quite distraught that he had the nerve to move in almost exactly on top of Felicity’s not-yet-cold vacant spot. The nerve! I don’t get along too well with the big bears. Charlise ruined them for me. I still get slightly ill when I see her on main street in town.
It took me over two weeks before I would recognize him as a townie and put a path to his house.
Time to Cool Off
While I was busy ignoring Grizzly, life continued lazily around town. I got a delivery from Nintendo containing a smoker. As a peace offering I gave it to Grizzly, but I was still sad he had taken my tenth spot. I could have had Genji!
I got some crazy petitions signed and found out that Gayle should hang out with Tia as they have similar poetic interests.
I stopped by Kasen for Starcrossed Day and the Summer Solstice.
I didn’t get any campers that I couldn’t live without. Thank gawd because the town was full thanks to Grizzly.
Gradually Grizzly and I bonded over chats about Mac ‘n’ Cheese and his brown nosing about my “Keep Hanabi Beautiful” ordinance.
Barold tried to leave. The one sanctioned bear in Hanabi. Vetoed.
I did have to concede, once I finally set foot in it, that Grizzly’s house is pretty cool.
Noooo! Nooooooooo! Pashmiiiiiiiiiinaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Then tragedy struck. Isabelle announced that one of our residents was leaving—and it wasn’t Grizzly. Pashmina tried to slip away without even saying goodbye or asking my permission. I’ll admit that I hadn’t seen her much lately because I didn’t want to reset the time on my 3DS because it screws Tomodachi Life up and I had changed it to a few hours earlier so she was never awake when I played. But why Pashmina?! Whhhhhyyyyyy!!!?? I needed you to recommend the scarecrow! And I gave you expensive furniture! I couldn’t just let her run off into the cold uncaring world, so I had Kokuto whisk her off to Jisuna village to live.

Yeah. I’m a little worried about Pashmina living with that crazy looking mayor too, but what can you do?
So, now I have my free spot in Hanabi again. Just not how I would have liked. Grizzly and I are getting along better I think…
And now even Tia is trying to move, so I think she must be ready to give her picture soon.
And that’s what’s been going on in Hanabi while I’ve been so quiet.
