Green!
OMG green leaves on trees! That was the shock I got yesterday when I walked outside. I panicked a little thinking spring may be here sooner than I thought, but there’s no cause for alarm. You can make snowmen, women, and children until February 24 this year.
Igloo
We also had a camper yesterday. I hate seeing the igloo when we’re full because I’m convinced it’s going to be one of the villagers that I really want. It was only Punchy. Not that he isn’t cute, but he’s not high up there on my “OMG move here now!” list.
Not Full for Long
Yesterday Rooney ran up to me and told me he was thinking of leaving. I soul searched for a good 25 seconds before telling him he could hit the dusty trail. I’ve got his picture and though I’m fond of him I wouldn’t mind shaking things up a little. He’s leaving on the 20th of this month so if anyone would like this cranky male kangaroo, let me know.

changing your shirt might be a better start to hardening yourself up than moving, but to each his own.
I’m writing him letters daily and I imagine he’ll do what Sheldon did and make it hard to part with him, but I’ll steel myself and make him go without forcing him on Kokuto.
Pashmina the Sleepy
We didn’t chat much yesterday because I let her unpack, but I wrote her a welcome letter and chatted her up this morning.
As of this morning (after 11 am cause she’s a late riser) Pashmina is all settled in. Today she was out and about mixing with the natives. She seems to have hit it off with Octavian already. I found them dancing around together and when I talked to Pashmina, found that she had stolen his catchphrase of “sucker”. Way to start off with being rude, uchi goat.
Really this is all that’s been going on of note. I buried a time capsule for Barold:
Last night I fulfilled Tia’s icky obsession.
And today I hosted Octavian in an attempt to get him to give me his picture. Someday octopus! It’s you, Tia and Pashmina now!
If you see yesterday’s posts, you’ll know that I spent an ungodly amount of time yesterday making designs from Pikopuri magazine. Then I did it again today, but on Kasen here’s why:
Setsubun!

“Demons out! Luck in!” Setsubun masks and oni shawl pictured—don’t forget the guy in the window trying to get in. Eep!
It’s a couple weeks away, but Setsubun is coming up in Japanese animal crossing games on February 3. As usual I intend to open up Kasen for the occasion. While I can’t promise you beans to throw (they’re only for sale in Nook’s for 2/1-2/3—and I only have 1) Assuming I get one more because Vella would like her own, then there might be one for sale when I open +1 from the day before, but first come first served
What I can offer you for setsubun: take pics with the cutout and get red and blue ogre masks and scare my adorable neighbors while wearing the mask. I’m trying to spiff up Kasen a bit and add setsubun-themed clothes (courtesy of Pikopuri of course) so you can come over and grab those. Once I get a few things done I’ll update my dream address and the clothes will be available there as well.
Tentatively I’ll probably open up my usual 10am-noon PST (GMT-8) and if anyone needs to come later (or earlier *yawn*), I can probably accommodate.
Hooray! Let’s celebrate spring coming with demon masks. 😉 Now if only there was a rain dance holiday for my poor dry state.
Outtakes
Running to Kasen would take a long time Stitches. It is in Japan after all…
