Happy 2014!
I wasn’t sure if I should post yesterday or just wait until today…but obviously today won out. I hope everyone had a fabulous start to their year. I spent my New Year’s eve playing Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl and then switched over to New Leaf for the countdown. While I started the game in time, my husband wanted to come over and we heard revelers outside yelling “Happy New Year” as he was coming over on the train, so officially we missed it. Oops.
I believe you mean champagne, but um sure. Hit me.

The Great Badge Hunt
I’ve slowed down getting badges. I’m still trying a little bit, but the cataloging with Vella is taking most of my badge hunting free time. I added set items to my list and some of the theme items. After steadily checking shops and having Yumi order a mailbox-full at a time I’m down to 247 items. I’m sure I need a lot more than that, but I haven’t felt like punishing myself and going through the entire item list. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m finished with shoes, socks, umbrellas, and accessories. I’m working on hats—I think I’m almost done and then on to clothes.
All this is to say that on New Year’s eve I did get one badge from Phineas and I didn’t really expect it: the silver letter writing badge! And after getting it I haven’t written a single letter towards gold. That’s usually how I roll.

OMG I couldn’t take his sighing and carrying on any longer. It was so hard to tell him to go! So I made my husband come pick him up so I can visit. It worked out well because dear Cobb, my favorite zombie pig from Kasen snuck away from my husband’s town in the night. I am semi-hoping he’ll move into Hanabi, but I kind of think he slipped into the ether.

New Year’s Day
I don’t know what Isabelle’s obsession with honoring the overworked horses is, but the statue we got for New Year’s was darn cute.

This New Year’s Resolution did make me scratch my head a bit.
New Year New DLC
I’m a little bummed at the recent DLC, but that’s probably because I have the Japanese game and I got it last year. If I hadn’t, I would be excited to get the kagamimochi unexpectedly from Pete and the Sunrise Lamp from the post office. But right now it’s very been there, done that. I wish they had put a little more thought into US DLC instead of recycling. </ spoiled rant>
Winter Sports
I’m still rolling snowboys. I think I’m over halfway down making them. Then maybe a snowmam and then bingo bingo bingo till the snow melts.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! I NEVER EVER see former residents in my main street. In my JP town it happens all the time, but in my US town I’ve never had a former townie visit. Today WHAM! Charlise wandering around. I wonder why she showed up now?? And why she’s the only one.

And a bridge is torn down and rebuilt. I wanted Sheldon out so I could replace the regular bridge with another wooden bridge. So, yesterday I demolished the old bridge and today put in a new one. I think it’s going back in the same spot, but it’s so hard to tell.
And that’s about it. We had Gulliver. I had a lot of people over for Noodles in Kasen. And I’m curious who I’ll end up with as a new resident. Hopefully a townie I like. I wouldn’t mind an uchi resident as I haven’t had one yet…
